BC – Circle of Friends

This Easter, many people in the Fraser Valley are working so hard to move from homeless into a new life. But they’re one wrong step away from losing everything.

This Easter, will you be a friend and help them feel seen, cared for, and less alone?

It may be surprising, but for many of our homeless neighbours, getting a home of their very own is only the start of a very long journey.

Most of them have lost their circle of friends: both the one they had before becoming homeless, and the one they created out of necessity while they were homeless.

Now, they’re making this massive transition into a new life without anyone to help them.

It can be incredibly lonely.

But it doesn’t have to be. Not if you step in to help them.

With a special Easter gift of $50, $100, or maybe even $200, you can be a friend to someone in Abbotsford who really needs one.

But that’s not all! Your generosity today can also set them up with friends for life!

Your gift will go directly to our Circle of Friends program. In it, our most vulnerable neighbours are matched with a group of two or three MCC volunteers who provide companionship and advice tailored to their friend’s individual needs.

Like helping their friend apply for jobs or build a budget. Or, grabbing a coffee and going for a walk, where they’ll talk about what’s going on in their lives.

Your gift today — of any amount that feels right for you — can help provide these weekly gatherings that help our most vulnerable neighbours feel seen, cared for, and less alone…

…And help them stay stably-housed in the long-term.

Your generosity couldn’t come at a better time.

Normally, this program is covered by grant funding. But we’ve only been able to secure $32,000 out of the $70,000 we need to keep it going.

We’re almost halfway there! The only thing we need now is the help of big-hearted friends like you to raise the last $38,000 for our neighbours in need.

Can we count on your support, and your friendship, today?
