Displaced families living in the cities of Kikwit and Tshikapa and the Kabwela area of DR Congo are among more than 1.4 million people who were forced from their homes by violence. Although violence has abated in the Kasai region now, many displaced people are still trying to find their footing as they rebuild their families, homes, emotional health and income in a new place. Returning to their home villages is not an option for many because their villages were destroyed or are still unsafe.
MCC is working with the Mennonite and Mennonite Brethren churches in DR Congo and other Anabaptist partners to respond to people's needs. Your gift will help displaced families start farming, earn income and attend school. In Tshikapa, Jean Lutondo (pictured) and others received pigs as well as supplies and training on how to raise them.
