Planned Giving

What is "planned giving?"

A planned gift is when you decide to make a future gift to a charitable organization, like MCC, through your financial and estate plans. MCC welcomes your gifts made through planned giving arrangements that will:

  • Provide for you or your loved ones
  • Entitle you to charitable income and/or gift or estate tax deductions
  • Enable you to leave a legacy for MCC

Why does a planned gift matter?

Planned gifts allow us to do just that — plan ahead and meet our program needs well into the future. Many MCC supporters have generously set up planned gifts over the years, helping to share God’s love and compassion in the name of Christ. A planned gift provides long-term financial stability and sustainability for MCC's programs; please remember us in your will and trusts, it makes a difference!

Ways to get started

Meet with MCC staff

Donor relations staff in MCC provincial offices have many years of experience helping MCC alumni and friends align their own deeply held beliefs and priorities with MCC needs. They would be happy to help you explore how a planned gift to MCC might fit in your life plan or to speak with your financial or legal advisor. Contact your nearest MCC office to arrange a visit.

Consult a financial planner

A foundation like Abundance (formerly Mennonite Foundation) can provide you with free consultations when planning your gift.

Advisers from organizations like these can help you align your resources of cash and other assets with your personal values. They, along with MCC staff, can then match your wishes with your resources and the needs of MCC. An experienced financial counselor will help you determine how much and when to give to maximize your gift and tax benefits.

Let us thank you!

If you have included MCC in your estate plans, please let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity, get to know you and hear about how MCC fits into your faith and understanding of sharing God’s love and compassion for all in the name of Christ. Contact your local MCC office.
