Your gift supports the Refugee Resettlement Program in Manitoba as we assist refugees who have suffered persecution, violence and human rights abuses to resettle in Canada.
Over 5.4 million people have fled Syria since 2011, leaving behind their homes, family, and way of life in a desperate effort to survive. After seven years of conflict and hundreds of thousands of lives lost, Syria remains one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. The overwhelming need can either paralyze us or move us to action. While the conflict is complex, there are practical steps we can take to help those most affected by it. We cannot save everyone, but we can make a lasting difference.
When refugees are unable to return home and unable to remain where they are, resettlement is the best option remaining. Blumenort Resettlement Group (BRG) has partnered with Mennonite Central Committee Canada (MCC) to sponsor a Syrian family in this difficult situation. With your support, we can give five refugees the opportunity to start a new life in Canada.
Your donation is eligible for a charitable receipt. If the funds raised for refugee settlement are in excess of the amounts needed, or if the refugees intended for sponsorship do not arrive in Canada, those funds cannot be refunded but will be used for other refugee resettlement initiatives by MCC. For more information about BRG and this sponsorship project, please call us at 204-371-1854. We value your partnership.
