Hi everyone!

Starting in the summer of 2019 I will be serving in Beirut, Lebanon as part of MCC’s SALT (Serving & Learning Together) program.

I have been brought on as an Emergency Response Assistant with the MCC Lebanon/Syria Team. I hope to support existing efforts in whatever way is needed, however my work will largely focus on assisting in the planning and evaluation of ongoing emergency relief efforts within vulnerable Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese communities. I will also be supporting education, peacebuilding, and advocacy initiatives in connection with local and North American partners.

MCC’s approach to community-based disaster management is described here: https://mcc.org/sites/mcc.org/files/media/common/documents/intersections...

I know this year will have many steep learning curves for me beyond adjusting to a new culture and learning a new language. The support of you – my community – means the world. Prayers, quick check-ins, notes of encouragement, and a well-timed meme or two couldn’t be more appreciated. If you would like to support me financially (with the added bonus of a tax receipt!) you can donate towards my living costs using the link below.

Hugs and blessings,

Evangeline
