MCC Saskatchewan supports migration and refugee resettlement programs across the province.
We are a group of friends who believe that Canada has a large part to play in ensuring the safety of people from around the world. We want to put that belief into action by privately sponsoring a young refugee woman to join her family members in our community. Our group contains non-profit workers and nomads with a keen interest in the world and a desire to make an impact when and where we can. When we heard about Rihana, a 26-year-old Ethiopian refugee woman whose aunt and uncle need her support here in Saskatoon, we knew we could help make it happen.
Sponsoring a refugee is a year-long commitment that includes providing for their financial needs and assisting with their transition into Canadian life. To welcome Rihana to Canada we first need to raise the necessary funds as quickly as possible. Our goal is $11,500, however at $5,500 we can start the process of bringing her here.
Please consider making a donation to help this young woman resettle here in our community. All donations are anonymous and will receive a charitable tax receipt from the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). With your support, we can help reunite this family and provide a young refugee woman with a more stable future!
