Humanserve International - Society for Relief and Development is a an agency that supports refugees and disadvantaged people in Lebanon and Palestine. Since the beginning of the civil war in Syria, Humanserve has been concerned about the situation of refugees who have fled that country and whom are now sheltering in camps throughout the Middle East.

Humanserve is sponsoring a family of seven (father, mother and 5 children, ages 5 to 13 years) for resettlement in Edmonton, Alberta. The family is in precarious circumstances in Lebanon and they cannot return to war-torn Syria without great risk. The children need to go to a proper school, and live in a more secure home.

We have met our first goal of $32,000 which is the minimum amount required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for a family of seven. Our goal now is to raise $11,000 to help support the family and cover all additional costs during their first year in Canada.
