MCC Saskatchewan supports migration and refugee resettlement programs across the province.
We are a group of family, friends & neighbours working to reunite a Syrian family here in Saskatoon.
The family of 8 fled under the bombardments in Aleppo and have been living in Lebanon since 2014. About 3 years ago, their father suffered a back injury while working a construction job. Supporting their family has been very difficult since then. The family live in a small tent with no doors or heating. Every night they suffer from the cold & the tent leaks when it rains. Their 6 children are unable to go to school & often go to sleep hungry for days at a time. As their home in Syria was destroyed & war still rages, they are trapped between two desperate situations.
Sponsoring a refugee family is a year long commitment that includes providing for their financial needs & assisting with transition into Canadian life. We need around $10,000 to reach our goal of $36,000, which will go towards housing, food clothes & other daily essentials. Anything you can contribute is a step closer to making this happen.
Please consider making a donation to help this young family resettle here in our community. All donations are anonymous & will receive a charitable tax receipt from the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Your support is greatly appreciated & will help provide this family with a more stable & brighter future! Thank you!!
